(Birthday) Living Room Makeover!

Wow! Yesterday, I turned 26!! While working around yesterday afternoon I thought.. "I am 26, I have been married almost 8yrs, I have two kids ages 6 and 2 and, wow, I'm still among the living!" Ha!
Jay out-done himself on my birthday.. He and the kids treated me with a trip to Yamato Steak House (Japanese) here local! I love it, it is one of my favorite places to go! I think I could eat there every day, and not get tired of it!
Yum! Tw's Wonderful, as always!
That's not all, It only gets better! He comes home from work and brings through the door...
A Marble Cake with Caramel Icing..(my Favorite)!
Can it get better?....
I have been looking for the perfect living room suit.. I had looked everywhere, almost a year.. until about a week ago... I found the style and color that I so desired! My loving husband told me to go ahead and pick out what I wanted, and all the other to go with it, because he was going to get it for me for my birthday!!! I did! So I thought I would share with you my new living room makeover!
I love it! It is just exactly what I wanted, right down to the Brown Leather Recliner!
Jay's mom and dad had bought me the rocker as a (first child) family gift when LaDessa was born, so when shopping for a living room suit, I would search for a color to go with my rocker...I could not believe it...the colors are near the same! Exciting!!
You gotta love my floor lamp! I found the perfect one at Lowe's!
I had the hardest time trying to decide the curtain style that fit, so I decided to start with Rod shopping and found them at Lowe's! Came home and played around until I got the curtain style!
What Next??
Lamp Shades, thanks to Lowe's again! Sometimes we just need a new look!
Found these at Burlington Coat Factory for the top of my piano!
I am not completely finished with the living room yet.. I am still shopping for different wall décor, and solid color floor rugs.. I hope find them soon!
I also done a little uplifting to the dining area as well!
While on my Husband Given shopping spree at Burlington's, I found this vase it was the perfect height and it matched the two candle stands in the picture above... I bought it, brought it home and made a centerpiece for my dining table!
As you can tell, I love Grapes, both eating them and decorating with them! Ha!
Even though we live in a mobile home, we love it! It feels homey to us! And until we find the house that we want or the Lord tells us otherwise, I guess I will continue doing makeovers!
I hope you have enjoyed the (highlight) pictures!!
My next room to be uplifted is...Our Master Bedroom! I hope to post pictures soon!

Alabama Trip!

I will start by saying, I only have one picture for this post. There was not enough time to take pictures....we got a little to busy talking as usual.
Liberty Holiness Church Camp Meeting started last Wednesday night..with my mom being sick, we didn't think we would even be able to go down, but the Lord worked it all out for the good, so, Friday afternoon to head down! Friday night and Saturday morning services were great! We had plans to leave Saturday afternoon to head back home, until Jay was ask to preach on Sunday morning. Am I ever so glad we stayed. It was glorious! The Lord came by in a mighty way. To me, this service was the best! In one word, WOW!
Going down to Alabama (Liberty Holiness) is always so special to Jay and I... #1: It's where Jay got saved and filled with the Holy Ghost! #2: Lots of Jay's (extended) family are from there! #3: This is where I met Mr. Wright for the very first time! #4: Great Friends live near by... and the list could go on! We love going down....it is truly our second home!
While there, they talked Benjamin in to helping in the kitchen....Sis. Ann let him borrow her apron and bouffant...

We all thought this was priceless! Best of all Benjamin loved being in the center of attention!!
We arrived back to our Kentucky home (refreshed/encouraged & uplifted spiritually) somewhere around 9pm Sunday night!
What a Wonderful Weekend!

Update on Mom...

Many of you are already asking..."How did your moms surgery go?"
Well, I have an answer for you...She had to reschedule again, due to, still being sick with whatever this is going around. Instead of getting better, her sickness has gotten worse in the last two weeks. They told her she could not be sick when she has the operation, so they told her she would have to reschedule it. Its too much of a risky chance to take.
Now, we wait for February 13th to come, that is the earliest the doctor could do the operation. I hate the waiting game...Knowing what the health issue and operation is all about....
Please.. join us in prayer, that our almighty God will either heal/take away the cancer, or if he chooses not to do so, just hold it were its at and not let it spread anywhere else. We know he is able!
A big thanks to all of you that have left comments/prayed/praying/the text and calls...They are greatly appreciated!

Church Kids!

Sunday evening before we headed out for church, I had to take a moment and snap some pictures (in the sun, so they are a little bright)!!!
After I had gotten him ready in his new outfit, I sat him down in front of the mirror...he immediately said...."MY BIBLE?" So Jay gave him a little new testament to take to church, and of course mommy had to have some pictures...he looked so complete! I just love natural poses!
While he was saying cheese for the camera, he stopped dead still and said, "PREACH"...and that's just what he did!! I'm not sure what the text was, but it sounded interesting!! I am all for side corner/street/ or whatever is was preaching, I just wished we had a yard full!!!
(After a Praise Break)
Of course we couldn't leave LaDessa out of the service, so she stepped in from the side and they had a serious "OFFERING" service....this was hilarious!
There is never a dull moment around here when they are together...Church is all they know, so that is what they do 90% of the time....and they know exactly how its done, although, we wouldn't have it any other way!

Craft and Baking Night!

LaDessa and I love being best friends and doing things together, so every now and then... its not "mommy and daughter", but its "Best Friends". And that's just what we did this week!!
First off, we made some Sugar Cake Cookies (from scratch)...We are both ready for Valentines to come, so everything was all about Valentine's Day! RED AND WHITE!
But instead of hearts, my "best friend" wanted to do faces! And so I had to do the same thing!
Side note- Every year Jay has gotten something special for the kids for Valentine's Day and surprised them...Normally its a toy...Like last year he got both of them "Nerf Guns", so that's why she is all excited about Valentine's Day to come! And of course I am excited about Feb. 14th because....well, you see with my husband, you never know what to expect...I guess I can say, he's a bit romantic, and he likes keeping me guessing! In which I love-shhh! HA!
Now to our craft! I had all kinds of magazines that I was going to throw away...so instead of throwing them away, we came up with a recycling idea....Magazine Pencil Holders!!
We picked our can, and colors....
We immediately found out that it takes lots and lots of rolled up pages...This one we actually made for LaDessa...but for some reason I don't have the picture of it finished.
So here is our Valentine Magazine Pencil Holder!
This one is actually made from a toilet paper holder!!
We had a blast making these little guys...they are so neat and fun to make!!
Best of all, this will be a memory for LaDessa for days to come!!
